FEDERATION2001 World Cup cancelled
Today IWSF President Andres Botero announced the cancellation of the 2001 World Cup series.In his cancellation announcement, President Botero said "Many other world class events have been cancelled at one time or another. I don't think it will damage our sport. To the contrary it will show to the sponsors, organizers and skiers that we are a serious organization and that our World profesional competition can only be staged where all the conditions are met."
President Botero thanked the organizers for their efforts in trying to hold World Cup tournaments this year.
The IWSF will concentrate its efforts on 2002 to bring back a strong, sponsored
World Cup.
