SYLVIE HULSEMANN In 1961 Sylvie Hulsemann became the second European woman to win the World Overall Title, earning, in the process, a medal in each of the three events: a gold medal in tricks, a silver medal in jumping, and a bronze medal in slalom. Sylvie competed in only two World Championships, skipping the chance to defend her title in Vichy in 1963 and returning to take a silver medal in tricks in 1965 at Surfers Paradise. She competed in Europe over a much longer period, and was the European Women's Overall champion three times between 1960 and 1975. I am pleased to announce the induction into the International Hall of Fame of a woman who almost single-handedly put Luxembourg on the water skiing map: Sylvie Hulsemann.
