The following section is where free form comments are added and attachments are made. HOMOLOGATOR'S REMARKS Course at Bridgewater is of Crossline construction with Longitudinal centre line strained heavily to keep course most accurate. Stainless steel cable is used with SS rings at all appropriate measurements and is semi permanent. ie removed annually. Course is checked several times per month with Theodolyte to keep it in Record Capability constantly by resident Homologator. Magnets on each guide and gate buoy are monitored regularly and before tournaments for consistent strength for greater accuracy. Trick course was implemented as per the rules ie. 15 metres at each end with approx. 175 metres active area. It is recommended by this Homologator that this methodology be abandoned and replaced by start area more suitable for Video from Boat or other Video Judging and timing. The older method of course deliniation is obviously unsuitable for Video operation and a rule change is recommended. Jump course is of similar construction with SS cable. Timing magnets are large, of constant strength and mounted under the boat rather than at the sides at the buoys for greater accuracy and consistent times. Note also that as is usual at Bridgewater that it is not possible due to physical constraints to place guide buoys at 180 and 150 metres for the jump event except at the bank. As this is if anything a disadvantage to the competitor, I recommend that this be accepted as a R/C event as has been accepted in the past. Waterway is approx. 70 metres wide but Jump surface is angled to obtain greatest width for competitors on approach and landing zone and subsequent safety considerations. There were no equipment failures to note affecting the legitimacy of any performance at this tournament. Homologator: Tony Cunningham 19 Railway Terrace Kangaroo Flat Vic.
