On the approach to the Sydney Olympics, IWSF Vice President Max Kirwan carried the Olympic Torch on one of its final legs. With the Beijing Olympics now just months away, three more of our great Waterski personalities have been given the honour. Following the San Francisco Torch Parade in the USA earlier this month, its next stop was Buenos Aires, Argentina. The outstanding Overall skier, Javier Julio, was asked to carry the Torch on this occasion on April 11th and enjoyed every moment. Next came Georgi Renosto, a past PanAm Games Waterski medalist and also in Buenos Aires to carry the Olympic Torch. In Canberra, Australia, Mark Beretta, the famous TV star of Channel 7 and a past Moomba Masters Waterski athlete took up the challenge and also enjoyed the unique occasion. Congratulations to Javier, Georgi and Mark.
