Name of the Competition: 1999 China’s International Water Ski Open & the Chinese National Champion Tournament. 2. Venue: Changsha City, Hunan Province, China. 3. Time : July 28 to August 2, 1999. 4. Host: Chinese Water Ski Association. 5. Sponsor: Changsha Municipal Government. 6. Events: Men’s and Women’s Tricks Men’s and Women’s Slalom Men’s and Women’s Jump (Possibly night jump for men) 7. Rules: Current IWSF rules will conducted except for starting speed for men’s and women’s slalom. (Men’s can be 55KM/H, Women’s can be 52KM/H) 8. Initial Schedule: July 27: Morning –Accrediation. Afternoon – Accrediatin, Judges’ Clinic. July 28: Morning – Official Familiariziation, Judges’ Practice Afternoon - Official Familiariziation, Judges’ Practice Evening – Meeting of teamleaders and participants. July 29: Morning – Official Familiariziation, Judges’ Practice Afternoon - Official Familiariziation, Judges’ Practice National Ski Show Team Practice Evening - Men’s night jump practice Pre training for Opening and closing ceremony. July 30: Morning – Preliminary round for men’s and women’s tricks. Afternoon – Rest. Evening – Opening ceremony. Men’s night jump July 31: Morning – Preliminary round for Men’s and women’s slalom Afternoon – Preliminary round for women’s jump. Finals for Men’s and women’s tricks. August 1: Morning – Finals for Men’s and women’s slalom. Afternoon – Finals for women’s jump Evening – Men’s jump, awarding ceremony, closing ceremony. August 2: Depature. 9. Awards and Prize money: (1) Cups: First place of each event will be awarded a cup. (2) Prize money: Total prize money will be 30000 USD. Please see the attached forms for details. The money will possibly be in Chinese currency. (3) Certificates: Each participant will be given a certificate for the competition. 10. Equipment: (1) Tow boat: For slalom and jump, the Ski Nautique 1998 (310-350HP) will be used. For tricks, the Ski Nautique 1993 (260HP) (2) Other equipment: All participants should bring their own equipment like skis, tow lines, handles, helmits, wet suits, ect.. Men’s jump skiers had better bring the suits for night jump. 11. Arrangements for accommodation, meals, local transportation and costs: Changsha, capital city of Changsha Province, is located in the central south of China. There are many direct flights to Beijng, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hongkong. (1) Arrangement: All participants will be arranged to stay in the Hotel (Name will be informed later, at least 3 star, two bed room with bath). Meals will be arranged by the Organzing Committee also. The Organizing Committee will arrange for local transportation during the competition. (Changsha Airport- Hotel, Hotel - Venue) (2) costs: Each participant should pay 65 USD/day for accommodation, meals and transportation to the Reception Office of the Organizing Committee. 12. Training: (1) Official Familiarization: The Tournament Department of the Organizing Committee will arrange for the official familiarization according to the entries. Each skiers should pay 50 USD to the department. (2) Those skiers who want have extra training, should pay to the department 60-80USD per boat per hour. 13. Entries: (1) Skiers from all associations of the IWSF and clubs of countries and regions will be encouraged to enter. (2) Deadline of the entries: Preliminary entry: April 15, 1999. Should include: Name, sex, Country or region, events to enter.
