EAME Coaching Seminar in Cape Town (RSA) From 11- 14th December EAME held it's 2nd Coaching Seminar of 2003 in Cape Town, seeking to promote the coaching of the sport and thereby to develop water skiing in the Southern African nations. 13 coaches from Namibia and South Africa attended the four day seminar held at the superb Mofam Ski School just outside Cape Town. The seminar aims to cover not just the technical aspects of the sport but also how to deliver and organise whole coaching programmes. EAME Coaching Sub Commission members John Wood (GBR) and Jean Michel Cau (FRA) conducted the four day seminar. "We were impressed by the organisation of the seminar by the South African Federation which is clearly the driving force in this part of the EAME region" said John Wood. He continued, "By furthering their coaching standards and through their sustained promotion of the All African Championships there is a clear pathway to develop the sport on the African continent. Hopefully this will be the stepping stone to an ongoing coach development programme in this part of the region and we look forwards to returning in the future to assist with this." Cape Town was the 4th EAME Coaching Seminar as the policy of reaching throughout the EAME region continues. So far Cairo, Lisbon and now Cape Town have been the venues. The EAME CSC will be holding their 2004 Seminar in Minsk (BLR) from 1st - 4th April and are looking for a central or western European venue for 2005. Further details of the 2004 Minsk seminar will be posted on the web site soon. John Wood
