The 2002 IWSF University World Championships

It is with great honor and pleasure that I inform you that the bid for the 2002 University World Championships has been closed and that this spectacular and exciting event will be hosted by the Chinese Water Ski Federation in Tianjin, China from August 21 - 25, 2002.

The 2002 University World Championships in China is the first IWSF University Championships. The fact that they will be held in China, host country for the 2008 Olympic Games, gives enormous prestige to this Championships, and a vast and united presence of the IWSF at this Event is of the utmost importance.

In fact, the 2002 University  Championships are  a perfect showcase for Waterski in the 2008 Olympics host city, and offers the perfect occasion to invite Chinese NOC Executive Members and Members of the Beijing 2008 Organizing Committee as spectators for an important representation of our sport.

I am confident that there will be a huge response from all of you, and that your support of this Event will be particularly strong.
