IWSF President, Andres Botero,
Appoints
International Collegiate Waterski Commission
Since the inaugural World University Trophy
Tournament, in June of 1996, The NCWSA, and the IWSF have been working
diligently to bring Collegiate Water Skiing to the world level. Four years of
work reached fruition this week when IWSF President Andres Botero announced the
appointment of a new IWSF International Collegiate Water Ski Commission charged
with developing the sport on an international level.
The IWSF Collegiate Water Ski
Commission will consist of Mr. Chris Owen, President of the Irish Water Ski
Federation and an appointed official at the 1998 WUT; Mr. Toru Homma, Chairman
of the Japanese Collegiate Water Ski Federation and Mr. Phil Chase, Chairman of
the NCWSA and a Director of AWSA and USA Water Ski.
The IWSF CWSC will immediately
begin it's work by developing new International Collegiate Rules and seeking
FISU recognition and sanctioning of a World University Water Ski
Championships.
